Do you celebrate abundance in your business, or do you tend to focus on what you still need or want to achieve? You can learn so much for running your business in tune with the natural rhythms of the earth and in tune with the seasons. Everything business related seems to be focussed on the future – dreaming of your ideal work week, hitting six figures, getting booked out!
And yet very little is spoken about what you should do when you actually get there?
Do you ever take a moment to celebrate the wins in your business, no matter how big or small?
This ritual is designed to help you see how far you have come, to give thanks and celebrate everything you have achieved in your business so far, but also acknowledge the hard work and effort you have channelled into your business.
Regardless of how “well” you are doing there is always abundance to be found – especially if you go searching for it!
You might be in a really abundant season of your business where all your visions and desires are now a reality.
Or you might find yourself in a slower season, where it feels hard to find abundance and things to celebrate right now, but no matter what season you are in, practising gratitude can help you find joy in your business, and be just what you need to keep growing, keep evolving and slowly inching towards your goals, dreams and desires.
Before we dive into this ritual – you can make this as indulgent or simple as you like. If you are low on energy and can only manage to do a few scribbled notes on a sheet of paper that’s enough.
The whole purpose of this ritual is to create a moment of pause and for you to focus on some of the things going well in your business instead of only the things you need to “fix” or “work on” until you reach that “dream status” (a little spoiler, you never reach a point where you have it all figured out, because just like life you business is always shifting and evolving).
Ok, feeling grounded, let’s get started.
Find or create a cosy little space for you to reflect in.
You might want to light a candle to help focus your energy, personally I love lighting a yellow candle to represent abundance. You definitely need a notebook or a journal, so that you can reflect on the last few months in your business.
You might want to make yourself a pot of tea too which will help relax you while doing this ritual. I will be drinking some Hibiscus and Rosehip tea to represent the abundance and vitality of the summer season. And when you feel fully present and grounded, you can take a few deep breaths and light your yellow candle to start the ritual.
Spend some time reflecting on all of your hard work and effort
Take a few moments to run through everything that has happened over the last few months? Have you reached any milestones in your business this year that you have been working towards for a while?
Again these don’t need to be huge, or even money related, it could be as simple as figuring out who you best serve, or letting go of a service that no longer feels in alignment. Perhaps you managed to get some systems set up that has helped you feel more ease in the day to day running of your business, or you managed to redesign your website, it could be as simple as staying on top of your editing or booking really lovely clients this year.
It’s ok if you open your journal and can’t think of anything to start, just sit there and start writing down the smallest things, soon the abundance will start overflowing and you will start to see how much progress you have made.
Here are some helpful journal prompts for you to use:
- What are three significant achievements I’ve reached in my business this year?
- How has my hard work and commitment contributed to these successes?
- What am I most grateful for in my business journey so far?
If you feel comfortable you can say a few words of gratitude out loud, thanking yourself (and the Universe) for the abundance you have received!
Shift your energy and intentions towards the future
We are just over halfway through the calendar year, and you might be feeling quite disconnected from the visions or intentions you had at the beginning of the year. Perhaps you have been working towards something in your business that no longer feels relevant or maybe your desire feels even stronger now.
It can be so helpful to check in and recalibrate throughout the year, not just at the beginning of the year!
So spend a little bit of time deciding where you want to focus your energy over the next few months.
Here are some simple journal prompts to help you:
- What are my top three business goals / desires for the rest of the year?
- What resources and support do I need to achieve these goals?
- How can I align my daily actions with my long-term desires?
I just wanted to add that for a lot of us, goals don’t always motivate us! So if you don’t resonate with the idea of setting goals because they cause too much pressure, or feel too rigid then that’s totally ok.
Instead of goals, think of these as intentions or desires, which helps you focus on the process or mindset you want to cultivate rather than a specific set of outcomes.
You could also choose to focus on building small habits that will lead you to feel a certain way over time. Or perhaps you want to make some decisions that help you take actions based on your values rather than specific goals.
This ritual is merely a guide, you can take what you need and leave the rest 🖤
Finally, end the ritual by feeling the energy of gratitude move through you
Just take a moment to let all that abundance and gratitude wash over you. Like I said, I don’t think we spend enough time in business celebrating our wins. Which is why it always feels like we are behind on where we should be or don’t feel motivated or inspired.
Taking just a little bit of time to reflect on how far you have come helps you feel more energised by your business, and you are more likely to keep going and feel a sense of accomplishment. It also helps you to just take a bit of a mental break and reduce some of the stress that comes with running a business all on your own.
When you feel ready, you can blow out the candle, to signify the end of the ritual.
Hopefully by the end of this ritual you will be feeling a deep sense of appreciation for everything you have right now in your business, and possibly a little bit more energised to keep going and working towards a business that feels good for you.
