A RITUAL TO FIND CLARITY IN YOUR BUSINESS
The thing I have come to understand about searching for clarity - the harder you search for it, the harder it is to find.
So often your desire to find clarity can get you feeling stuck in a never ending thought pattern. Which is why I have created this little ritual for when you get stuck wondering - Which direction should you choose? What should be your next step? This thing or that thing?
But the truth is, clarity can only be found by listening to your soul's desire. Your intuition, your inner compass and guide. That little inkling inside of you that knows the way forward but is often too afraid to start or take the leap.
In times you are struggling to find clarity, my best advice is to listen to your body, not your mind, and simply just get started. You don’t need to know all the steps, just follow your curiosity and see where it leads you.
You cannot think your way to clarity, this will only leave you feeling even more confused.
Before you can create space for more clarity to arrive, you need to make room to breathe.
Start by physically stepping away from your desk, to-do list, or phone and do something to reconnect with your body:
So in times when you are searching for the answers
Next, find a space that feels peaceful and nurturing. Light a candle, burn some incense, or make a cup of tea to create an intentional atmosphere. Feel yourself ground into the moment. Allow your mind to slow down, making space for clarity to enter.
+ Take a mindful walk, noticing your surrounding and the season or simply feel the earth beneath your feet.
+ Or sit and do a simple meditation, focusing on your breath.
+ Even something as simple as closing your eyes, sitting in silence and observing your breath for a couple of minutes.
+ What has been causing me the most stress or uncertainty in my business?
+ What has been causing me the most stress or uncertainty in my business?
+ If I could let go of one thing in this moment to feel lighter, what would it be?
+ What would it feel like to trust that the answers will come when I’m ready?
Now that you’ve created a clear and grounded space, it’s time to release the swirling thoughts from your mind.
Imagine each idea, thought or concern as a thread waiting to be unwound and laid out before you. Instead of trying to make sense of everything all at once, the goal is to let your thoughts spill out freely and observe the connections as they emerge.
+ Free Flow Writing
Take your journal, a large piece of paper, or a digital tool like Notion and begin writing everything that’s been on your mind. Let the thoughts flow without censoring, filtering, or trying to make sense of them just yet. The key here is to empty your mental clutter, from business worries to creative ideas, client challenges, or personal stresses.
+ Mind Map or Brain Dump
If freewriting feels overwhelming, create a mind map or a brain dump list. Start by writing one central theme (e.g., "Business", "Current Project", "Next Steps"), and then branch out with related ideas, feelings, or issues. Keep branching out until all your thoughts are on paper. Let this process be non-linear; don’t worry about organisation.
+ What patterns or recurring themes do I notice in my thoughts?
+ Is there one area that seems to dominate my mind? What does that tell me about where my energy is focused?
+ Is there one small, intentional step that feels right to take from here?
Once you've laid everything out, step back and look at the bigger picture. You’re not looking for answers yet—just starting to see what has surfaced.
Now that you've untangled your thoughts and identified the threads, it's time to take the next step—literally. Clarity often doesn’t arrive until you start moving forward. The key is not to wait for the “perfect” answer or all the steps to become clear, but to take the next aligned step that feels right based on everything you know right now.
Instead of overthinking or seeking external validation, trust your intuition to guide you. This is not about making the “right” or “wrong” decision—it’s about being intentional and recognising that action creates clarity. Think of this step as an experiment. You're gathering data, learning as you go, and adjusting along the way.
+ Choose one step
Reflect on everything you’ve laid out and the patterns or themes that have emerged. Now, ask yourself: What is one small, intentional step I can take right now that aligns with where I want to go, my desires or how I want to feel in my business right now?
This step doesn’t have to be big—it could be sending an email, sketching out a plan, or making a small tweak to your workflow. The point is to move from reflection into action, trusting that each step will bring more clarity.
+ Set a time frame
Give yourself a gentle deadline or timeframe for taking this step. Whether it’s today, tomorrow, or within the next week, setting a clear intention to act will help you move forward with purpose.
+ Embrace the idea of experimentation
Remember, this step is an experiment. There’s no need to have all the answers. If something doesn’t go as planned, it’s not a failure—it’s valuable feedback. You can always recalibrate and adjust your course.
Now that you’ve taken your first step, it’s time to release control and trust that clarity will emerge as you move forward. The path ahead won’t always be perfectly clear, and that’s okay. Clarity often comes in stages—through the actions we take, the feedback we receive, and the lessons we learn along the way.
This step is about surrendering to the process and allowing things to unfold without rushing or forcing outcomes. Trust that even if you don’t have all the answers yet, you’re exactly where you need to be.
Let your intuition guide you, and embrace the idea that clarity doesn’t arrive all at once—it deepens over time as you stay present, open, and receptive. The path to clarity isn’t linear, and there’s no rush to get it “right.” If something doesn’t go to plan, don’t see it as a setback or failure — see it as valuable information. Give yourself permission to pivot, change course, or try something new without judgment.
+ How can I trust the process more, even if I don’t have all the answers right now?
+ What feels aligned, and what no longer feels right for me?
+ How can I continue to show up with curiosity and openness as I move forward?
